AWREY, Nathalie J. (McCall) of Bay City, Michigan. Mrs. Awrey, age 81, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Sheffield Bay with her family at her side following a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Flint on November 17, 1929 to the late James C. and Iva M. (Root) McCall. Nathalie was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Awrey, Jr. after 46 years of marriage. Nat and Bob Loved to dance with the Jitter bug being their favorite dance. During the sixties they were members of the Gay Blades Dance Club. The Seventies they belonged to the Good Times Dance Club. She was very active with the Junior Chamber of Commerce Auxiliary and served as president in 1963 to 1964. Nathalie was involved for many years in church, teaching Sunday school and working in the nursery, also, served as past president of the Fremont P.T.A. and a member of the Essexville Women's Club. She worked on many collection drives for the Crippled Children & Adults, MDA, and United Way. She enjoyed bridge, swimming, and golf and loved to sing with her angelic voice. She is survived by her children: Lisa and Ron Potter, Robert Awrey III and Loriann and Dave Jenks; grandchildren: Michael and Christina Winchell, Jr., Melissa (Pat Jamrog) Winchell, Jessica Duranczyk, Jennifer and Jeff Cojeen, Seaman Jonathan Duranczyk, Janelle Duranczyk, Amanda Awrey and Robert Awrey IV; six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, 2011 at Rivertown Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joseph Atchinson with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. On Monday from 10 until time of services. Those wishing and expression of sympathy are asked to consider McLaren Visiting Nurses and Hospice. The family would like to thank Dorri, Jane, Cindy, Karen, Aubrey and the rest of the staff at Sheffield Bay for their kind and compassionate care.
