    So the story goes Benjamin Aurient or D'Aurient arrives in "Jersey" with three small boys. (the mother has died at sea) and not being able to handle this situation he gives the boys away. Nicholas is given to a German lady who has trouble pronouncing the name Aurient or D'Aurient and reduces the name to Awrey. This unique beginning establishes the Awrey family and all Awreys from that time on are related.
